At Studio22 we manufacture a Coffee Table Book that closely resembles the book produced by iPhoto (iPhoto is a package that is included in iLife or on your Apple Mac). The package is included free with most new Macs. We have made slight changes to our standard book in order to accomodate the layout of iPhoto templates. Our standard Espresso Coffee Table Book is a landscape format A4 book with magazine quality printing. The iPhoto book will have a slightly shorter page – this does not affect your layout or required any changes from your side.
Tips for layout:
We produce only two size iPhoto books (A4 and A3) we suggest however that all layout be done using the “Large book” option as we prefer working from larger files.
We print a mini-proof sheet of all pages, this mini proof needs to be signed off before printing proceeds. Clients sending us books long distance can select to give us permission to print without a proof. In this case Studio22 will check the proof but will not be able to take responsibility for errors or colour issues that could have been prevented in the viewing of a proof.
Our books can bind more pages than iPhoto software allows. You can split your book in half and do two layouts, you just need to send us two iPhoto books and we can bind in one cover – please check with us in advance. e-mail email@example.com.
What about the cover?
We offer a wrap around Hardcover or Soft cover option (the wire bind option is not yet available, please enquire). Both options are laminated and available in Gloss, Matt or Wheat (Wheat is an additional R30). We do not offer the dust jacket option – if this is selected or supplied with your layout, our designer will convert the cover to suit our design – a layout proof will be printed or e-mailed for your approval.
How to save my files?
In order for us to print, you will need to save the layouts in PDF format. To do this, select “print” while in iPhoto and then select “PDF” on the bottom of the print menu page. Save the PDF in a folder, this will need to be sent to us.
Where do I send my files?
If you are unable to visit Studio22 with your files, we recommend sending them via www.wetransfer.com. Sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
What about the other iPhoto products?
Due to numerous requests, the calendars and cards will be added to our range of service in the near future.
