As the date for the move draws closer, we are often asked our reasons for the move. As a destination store for everything photographic and an online store that has shown substantial growth over the past 5 years, we want to dedicate our focus to the important areas.
1200 meters.
We have selected a location very close to our current store, at only 1200 meters from Century City.
Manufacturing Sector.
The popularity of our growing range of products has called for focus on our manufacturing and production. In the past two years we have added Eco blocks, the New Alpha Pro’s, Folio Wraps, USB boxes, Memory boxes and the Idea Range of frames. We have added a new Fujifilm Frontier Dry Lab as well as another Epson Large format printer. Growth in our fine art printing and accompanying range of papers, as well as banners and posters, demand more space. Our laser engraving has grown far beyond the engraving of photobook covers to an operation of its own. Increased need for our Print-on-Demand services, on our digital press, from business cards to menus and flyers also demand more production space.
Additional corporate clients at Colin Sunkel Framing has promoted the need for more focus in framing production.
Refresh.
All this ties in with an opportunity to refresh and rejuvenate our retail department and streamline the online sales. Here too, plenty of new products have been added to stock and even more to the website.
Everything under one roof.
We chose to expand our floor space and as in all our previous stores, to keep everything under one roof.
Our environment.
From an eco and efficiency aspect, we will be installing a solar water system, LED and energy saving lamps in EVERY new fitting. Skylights will be installed to take advantage of the daylight for the over 230 sqm of upper level mezzanine. We are also well positioned to make optimal use of the sun for a future solar power array.
Event Space: Cube Studio
We will also have a larger studio to allow more visitors to our popular workshops and regular Studio22 events.
Last but not least, the new store allows multiple security aspects, during the day and after-hours. There is an added benefit of having a single road in and out of a large developed area.
