Studio22 Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 22 March 2026

Welcome to Studio22. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our websites, products and services, including but not limited to Studio22Online.co.za, CoffeeTableBooks.co.za and MyWalls.co.za (“Website”).

By browsing our Website, creating an account, requesting a quotation, uploading artwork or placing an order with Studio22, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our Website or services.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy, Returns & Warranty Policy and Disclaimer.

1. About Studio22

Studio22 is operated by SamProp (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa.

We specialise in the production of custom printed products including, but not limited to:

  • Photo Books
  • Fine Art Prints
  • Photographic Prints
  • Wall Art
  • Framed Prints
  • Canvas Prints
  • Albums
  • Digital Press Printing
  • Personalised Gifts
  • Laser Engraving
  • Custom Printing Services

Because many of our products are custom manufactured specifically for each customer, additional conditions apply to the ordering and production process.

2. Placing an Order

Orders may be placed through our Website, in-store, by email or through any ordering platform operated by Studio22.

A quotation does not constitute acceptance of an order.

An order becomes binding once payment has been received (where applicable) and production has commenced.

Studio22 reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order where:

  • required information is incomplete;
  • payment cannot be verified;
  • supplied artwork breaches these Terms;
  • the requested content is unlawful or offensive;
  • technical limitations prevent satisfactory production; or
  • fulfilling the order would expose Studio22 to legal or commercial risk.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change without notice, however changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.

Although every effort is made to ensure pricing accuracy, Studio22 reserves the right to correct genuine pricing or typographical errors before production begins. Should this occur, customers will be offered the opportunity to proceed at the corrected price or cancel the order for a full refund.

Unless otherwise agreed, production will only commence once payment has been received.

4. Customer Artwork

You retain ownership of all photographs, artwork, designs and other content that you submit to Studio22.

By submitting artwork, you confirm that:

  • you own the content or have permission to use it;
  • the content does not infringe any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights;
  • the content does not contain unlawful material;
  • you have permission from any identifiable individuals where required.

Studio22 does not claim ownership of your photographs or artwork.

We use your files solely for the purpose of producing your order, providing customer support and, where necessary, resolving quality-related queries.

5. Customer Responsibility

Unless Studio22 has been specifically engaged to provide a design or preflight service, all files are printed exactly as supplied.

Customers are responsible for checking:

  • spelling;
  • grammar;
  • layout;
  • cropping;
  • alignment;
  • image quality;
  • colour choices;
  • page order;
  • bleed and safe areas (where applicable);
  • overall suitability for printing.

Studio22 cannot accept responsibility for errors contained within customer-supplied artwork once production has commenced.

6. Image Quality

The quality of the final product depends largely on the quality of the files supplied.

Low-resolution images, screenshots, compressed images downloaded from social media, or poorly edited photographs may produce disappointing printed results.

Although our online software may provide image quality warnings where possible, these tools are intended as a guide only and cannot detect every issue.

Studio22 is not responsible for poor print quality resulting from customer-supplied files.

7. Colour Accuracy

Printed products are produced using professional colour-managed equipment.

However, colours displayed on mobile phones, tablets and computer monitors vary significantly depending on device settings, calibration and lighting conditions.

As a result:

  • printed colours may differ slightly from what is displayed on screen;
  • natural materials such as canvas, wood and fine art papers may influence the appearance of colour;
  • minor colour variation does not constitute a manufacturing defect.

Customers requiring precise colour matching are encouraged to request test prints before placing large or colour-critical orders.

8. Design Services

Where Studio22 provides a design service, customers will receive a proof for approval unless otherwise agreed.

Production will only proceed once approval has been received.

Approval confirms that the customer accepts responsibility for the spelling, layout, photographs and overall appearance of the design.

Changes requested after approval may incur additional charges and may affect production times.

9. Production Times

Estimated production times are provided as a guide only.

While Studio22 makes every reasonable effort to meet published turnaround times, production may occasionally be affected by equipment failure, supplier delays, power interruptions, courier disruptions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Urgent production services are subject to availability.

Delays do not automatically entitle a customer to cancel an order or claim compensation unless required by applicable law.

10. Delivery & Collections

Studio22 offers a variety of delivery and collection options.

Risk passes to the customer or their appointed representative once an order has been collected or handed to a courier.

If you appoint a third party to collect your order, including an Uber driver, courier company, friend or family member, that person is deemed to be acting on your behalf.

Studio22 is not responsible for any loss, damage or misdelivery once an order has been handed to your nominated collector.

Customers must ensure that anyone collecting on their behalf is properly identified and instructed.

11. Inspection of Goods

Customers should inspect their order as soon as reasonably possible after collection or delivery.

If you believe your order contains a manufacturing defect, please notify Studio22 in writing as soon as possible and, where practical, include clear photographs of the issue.

Prompt notification allows us to investigate and resolve any genuine production concerns quickly.

12. Returns & Reprints

As most Studio22 products are custom-made, orders cannot generally be returned simply because the customer changes their mind.

Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Studio22 will, at its discretion:

  • repair the product;
  • replace the product; or
  • provide an appropriate refund where required by law.

Studio22 will not be responsible for reprinting products where issues arise from:

  • customer-supplied artwork;
  • spelling mistakes;
  • incorrect photographs;
  • layout choices approved by the customer;
  • low-resolution images;
  • colour expectations based solely on screen appearance.

13. Copyright & Prohibited Content

Customers may only upload content that they have the legal right to reproduce.

Studio22 reserves the right to refuse any order containing material that is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate.

We may also refuse orders where we reasonably believe that copyright or trademark infringement may occur.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Studio22’s liability is limited to the value of the products or services supplied.

Studio22 will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including loss of profit, business interruption, emotional distress or loss arising from delays beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation.

15. Force Majeure

Studio22 shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • power failures;
  • internet outages;
  • equipment breakdown;
  • supplier delays;
  • courier disruptions;
  • labour disputes;
  • natural disasters;
  • fire;
  • flooding;
  • acts of government; or
  • other force majeure events.

16. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us.

The collection, storage and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

By using our Website, you consent to the processing of your personal information as described in that policy.

17. Changes to these Terms

Studio22 may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in legislation, technology or our business operations.

The latest version will always be available on our Website.

Continued use of our Website or services after changes have been published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
